Weekend Combo
Fashion Week FW26: over. We’re back and we’re on the hunt for great stuff to fill that FW-shaped hole.
Let’s get a lil emotional
HERO 34 cover star Tyriq Withers turns romantic lead in Vanessa Caswill’s latest flick, Reminders of Him – an adaptation of a Colleen Hoover novel. Withers stars alongside Maika Monroe, who plays a mother trying to reconnect with her young daughter after she was sent to prison for a drunk-driving accident that killed her boyfriend. Withers enters as a local bar owner, offering compassion, friendship, and perhaps more.

Sink your teeth into this
Everyone is loving the Victorian gothic rn. What with Jacob Elordi raising heart rates in Wuthering Heights, and Jacob Elordi raising the dead in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein. Within this, Luc Besson’s Dracula has gone slightly under the radar. Starring Caleb Landy Jones as the titular Count, he’s joined by Christoph Waltz and Zoë Bleu. It’s the classic tale, but amped up (Besson-style) with plenty of fun and farce. It’s also soundtrack by a Danny Elfman score, which is always a plus.

Still, ‘Dracula’, dir. Luc Besson, 2026
Double trouble
The Growlers are in town, and they’re always a good time. After six years off the road, the West Coast psych-surf outfit finally return, with a couple of frenzied new singles up their sleeve. This weekend they play two nights at East London’s Village Underground – go once, go twice, just don’t miss out.
The Growlers play at Village Underground on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th March.
Doors to nowhere
Step into something a little surreal with Gavin Turk’s new exhibition The Escapologist at Ben Brown Fine Arts. The show transforms the space into a maze of half-open doors, each oil painting offering a glimpse into hazy, dreamlike landscapes that stretch beyond the frame. A longtime art provocateur, Turk uses the humble door as both symbol and trick, pulling viewers into glowing horizons that contain ambiguous truths.
Gavin Turk: The Escapologist runs at Ben Brown Fine Arts 11th March – 22nd May.
Jazz and a martini
Wanting to soothe the soul? Head to Meliá White House, whose weekly jazz & cocktail night is a guaranteed good time. Taking place every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday inside the art deco hotel’s ’35 Bar & Lounge, named after the year the building was conceived, the evening sees renowned musicians take to the stage, from saxists to crooners. Order yourself a cocktail – we recommend the Martinez aromatic martini – and settle in.

Sarnies in South
Cafe Mondo is one of our favs, slinging some of the best sarnies in town. Now, the Camberwell team are stretching their wings, opening a takeaway spot in Deptford. Wonderfully named Mondo To Go, the new space will serve up Mondo’s signatures and specialities, with a few seats and beers if you fancy a moment to chill. Set to open in early April, we thought we’d give you a heads up, treat it like a Metallica gig and set up camp outside early.
