Snow! It snowed! Did you see?! It snowed. That’s all of this week’s news wrapped.

Film

A Lynchian double bill
This Sunday in the Prince Charles there’s a David Lynch double-bill, with his debut feature Eraserhead being paired with Fire Walk with Me, his prequel film to Twin Peaks. Something of an usual pairing, but still a great opportunity to see two classics back to back on the big screen. Eraserhead is a surreal tale that involves a strange alien baby and a woman who lives inside a radiator, meanwhile Fire Walk with Me takes us through the last seven days of Laura Palmer’s life, her death leading to the events of Twin Peaks.

Tickets can be bought on the Prince Charles website

Film

Q+A screening
Two strangers simultaneously walk into a Brooklyn apartment to collect cash they’re both owed… No it’s not one of our witty jokes, it’s the plotline to the Jeffrey Scotti Schroeder-directed new film Or Something. From this serendipitous meeting, the debt-collecting duo spend the day together on a journey through New York City learning about one another as a deep secret is revealed. This Sunday, presented by Deeper Into Movies, the film’s stars and writers Mary Neely and Kareem Rahma are doing a Q+A and screening at All Is Joy.

The Q+A takes place on Sunday 24th at All Is Joy – buy tickets here.

Freakquencies takes London
Suits at the ready, The Dare (aka Harrison Patrick Smith) is in London for a set at the O2 Forum Kentish Town on the 26th, before then the NYC musician is bringing his notorious, cult Freakquencies club night to East London’s Moth Club. What started at Manhattan dive bar Home Sweet Home has since travelled the world, with Smith as its synthy pied piper.

Food + Drink

We live here now
In recent years, Mondo Sando have been serving up some of the best sandwiches in the city. Now comes Cafe Mondo, “a fast-slinging sandwich joint by day, and a little dive by night.” Sounds good to us. Inspired by the eternal charm of caffs, diners and dive bars, imagine a place where you can scoff a fish finger sandwich before changing gear and throwing back a couple of MSG martinis and beer & shot combos. Then sort out that hangover with a Mondo Frango sarnie. Perfection.

Cafe Mondo is located at 42 Peckham Rd, SE5 8PX, more info here
