Fashion round-up
Time flies, so to keep you in the loop, we’ve rounded up all the important snippets of fashion news from the past seven days into one neat feature. This week includes centenary celebrations, timely collaborations and a high-fashion pivot into the Metaverse.
Bianca Saunders unveiled her Farah collaboration
Wading deeper into a world that fuses Saunders’ own British-Caribbean heritage with the nuances of masculine dress, the ANDAM award-winning designer’s latest collaboration with Farah is all about the seventies. Lifting from the brand’s rich archive in addition to old photos of her immediate family and albums like Althea & Donna’s Uptown Top Ranking, from which the collection lends its name, Saunders’ designs provide us with a contemporary blueprint for Jamaican power-dressing.
The collection is available to view in-store at Selfridges, where Saunders has also created a short-film to celebrate the project
JW Anderson X Uniqlo SS22 is all about an easy breezy summer
With big Topshop shuttering its many, many doors last year, it would’ve seemed that the High Fashion x High Street collab was a gonna. But thanks to a long-lasting partnership between JW Anderson and Uniqlo, we can still cop some straight-off-the-runway fashions without burning a hole in our pockets. For their SS22 offering, oversized is in via crisp shirts, while gingham button-downs with exposed stitching and sailboat motifs welcome in the sunny season with glorious ease. Summer, it seems, has already started.

Off-White are now accepting cryptocurrency
That’s right, your virtual coins are officially usable tender at the fashion house helmed by the late Virgil Abloh. Starting in three of their brick-and-mortar European flagships, Off-White stores in Paris, London and Milan will now accept cryptocurrency payments as official legal tender, with Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP) and USD Coin (USDC) amongst the mix of wallets being catered to.
Dickies turned 100!
Would you believe it? The workwear brand beloved by tradies, skaters and hipsters is celebrating an entire century in the biz. To commemorate such a momentous occasion, the brand’s latest collection revives repeat patterns and heritage designs taken from across the Dickies archive, splashing them across graphic tees or giving old silhouettes new life in relaxed shirting.

Balenciaga made a shoe into art
The French fashion house’s latest edition to its Objects range is a sculpture of its signature Runner shoe rendered as a glazed ceramic statue – ideal for that empty plinth in your living room.
