positive change
The malleable nature of humankind and the shapeshifting impact of day-to-day life lay at the centre of Mordecai’s FW25 collection, The Intelligence of Others. This season, the brand’s founder and creative director Ludovico Bruno prioritised resilience and adaptability in his designs, reminiscing on occurrences which used to be sources of discomfort with an air of lightness and solace.
These principles were reflected in the ease of silhouettes as garments built on detailed construction through multifunctional pieces that layer and adapt to become new forms. Down jackets function as shields from the elements, voluminous puffer jackets envelop the wearer, canvas materials are given a military-like structure, and pockets are hidden atop trousers with an open side zip. Neutral hues of ivory, great, brown and black form the core of the collection’s colour palette alongside patterns inspired by Azerbaijani rugs.
