Alpine slopes

Moncler Gamme Bleu FW17

Bringing the wintery Milanese weather inside and taking it further, Moncler Gamme Blue creative designer Thom Browne showed the brand’s FW17 collection in a snow-covered alpine forest setting.

Inspired by mountaineering, the offering presented hiking gear with a bondage edge; limbs came tied and silhouettes were determined by thick ropes. A nod towards traditional British crafts, quintessentially Moncler tailored pieces like sport coats, pea coats, chesterfield coats and trenches were crafted from wool flannel, cashmere, Shetland wool, cotton corduroy and Donegal wool. Sure to keep their wearers warm in the most intense of blizzards – or just regular London winter weather.

While snowflakes floated down on to the catwalk, space-age goggles and knit hats with beaver fur beards provided the chance to look polished – on-piste. Not to mention tricking your ski-peers into thinking your chin is super blessed in the hair department.
