Higher ground
Bally’s relationship with mountain exploration sits at the very centre of the brand’s story. Founded in 1851, the Swiss house built its reputation on technical precision and innovation, a lineage sharpened in 1947 when it supplied footwear for the Swiss Everest expedition. By 1953, that history was sealed at altitude, with Tenzing Norgay reaching the summit in Bally’s Reindeer boots.
For the house’s FW26 lookbook, Bally returned to the Alps. Think padded, puffed and armoured silhouettes, wrapped in shearling, wool and technical fabrics, alongside thick knitwear and bags with utility details, particularly oversized pockets. Alpine scenery was scrambled and transformed – snow-tipped pine trees compressed into tight camouflage graphics, and skier silhouettes reduced to abstract motifs – while on foot, the house’s famous curling boot, once worn by the Swiss team at the 1956 Winter Olympics, came back as the City Curling, bulked up as a chunky, sneaker silhouette.
