Pure Feeling
Since 16Arlington’s founding in 2019, its guiding principle has been the fundamentals of dressing to please oneself. As a designer, Marco Capaldo has never been one to place women into a cast of characters, instead crafting garments through instinct and individuality. Winter 2026 is no different: “The act of dressing is steered by feeling, not thought. Personality is expressed, not explained – and never staged. This is a wardrobe for a woman defined as who she knows herself to be,” reads the brand’s collection notes.
A series of definitive opposites lay at the centre of this season’s offering, dissecting the spaces between minimalism and maximalism, masculinity and femininity, playfulness and severity. Directly translated into fabric and form, streamlined matte outerwear is accented by frou-frou fringe and intricate beading while delicate slip dresses sprout into marabou hems. Leopard print takes centre stage in a trench coat cinched at the waist, then distorted into a muted speckled version across silk chiffon co-ords and high-neck mini dresses. Silhouettes louchely drape across the body, whether it’s a sharp-shouldered shirt crafted from satin or a heavy overcoat with a beaded bandana wrapped across the neckline; shapes contour into statuesque profiles. 16Arlington’s woman has always known who she is, but this season sees Capaldo bring her out of her shell, creating clothing to “articulate a woman’s rich inner world – they extend who she is, rather than impose who she ought to be.”
