Loewe exhibit Talia Chetrit’s photography of intimacy and selfhood
By Ella Joyce | Art | 5 June 2026

American photographer Talia Chetrit has been documenting the world around her since the mid-1990s, exploring the techniques of analogue photography across fashion editorial, street shots, still life and nude portraiture. In the midst of that, she became a frequent collaborator of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, brought in by the design duo following their appointment at Loewe to first capture a campaign for the house in 2025.

Now, in honour of her work with the Spanish house, the Loewe Foundation has invited Stella Bottai to curate an exhibition of Chetrit’s work for this year’s PHotoESPAÑA. Titled Bunny, this marks the photographer’s first institutional solo exhibition in Spain, bringing together nearly three decades of imagery from her earliest works to never-before-seen photos.

This year’s PHotoESPAÑA explores the concept of  ‘Reimagining’, challenging accepted visions of reality, particularly at the intersection of fashion photography and the creative avant-garde. Chetrit’s practice traverses reality in all its varying forms, brought to life in a particularly vivid manner through her steadfast commitment to shooting analogue. Themes of provocation, innocence, family and selfhood are studied in her photographs, recurring in shots taken from her teenage years to the present day.
