Ceramic cats
First debuted during Paris Fashion Week in June last year, the accompanying campaign for Kim Jones’ Summer 2025 Dior Homme collection has just dropped. Inspired by the whimsical work of South African artist Hylton Nel, the sculptor’s core motifs are translated through Dior’s savoir-faire, seeing tailoring, knits and sweaters adorned with playful prints and constructed with ceramic fastenings. The large-scale ceramics that populated the show venue have been scaled down for the campaign as models stand atop pastel pedestals, carrying statues of cats surrounded by vibrant creatures from Nel’s practice.
Captured by renowned photographer Pieter Hugo, Jones’ designs stand front and centre against pastel backdrops and lush greenery. Key looks from the collection feature tailored shorts paired with graphic knits, woven bucket hats finished with ceramic charms, trek-inspired 3D-printed sneakers, and ceramic scarf collars layered on suiting.
