Time flies, so to keep you in the loop, we’ve rounded up all the important snippets of fashion news from the past seven days into one neat feature. This week includes Drôle de Monsieur x Gergei Erdei and Louis Vuitton’s pre-FW23 show. 

Meet this year’s BFC NEWGEN
The British Fashion Council‘s BFC NEWGEN scheme is responsible for spotlighting the designers to know, having launched the careers of countless well-known visionaries. As well as the BFC seal of approval, the council award grants, showcasing opportunities and mentoring sessions to a new set of designers each year. This year’s lineup includes a bumper crop of London’s finest brands, including the likes of S.S. Daley, Labrum, Connor Ives, Aaron Esh, Saul Nash, FEBEN, Di Pesta, Chet Lo and Sinéad O’Dwyer. 

Wrap yourself in A.P.C.
The French brand’s latest range of quilts and cushions are the ultimate homeware icons. Crafted by Jessica Ogden, each piece is made using leftover fabric from A.P.C. and Sacai. Shot by Aldredo Piola in New York, the accompanying campaign places each item against the city’s urban backdrop.

Stone Island at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound Festival
As part of Stone Island Sound, the brand are heading to Barcelona to host a stage at the iconic Primavera Sound Festival this summer and at Torino’s C2C Festival late this year. Championing the evolving sounds of independent music from around the world, a line up formed of the likes of Blackhaine, Bill Kouligas and Jana Rush will take the stage.

Dr Martens’ Jadon Boot turns ten
And the iconic footwear brand is celebrating by releasing a special short film documenting the shoe’s defining first decade, featuring insights and anecdotes from DM insiders, collectors and collaborators. Needless to say, there’s also a series of reworked styles dropping. How often do you get a gift for someone else’s birthday?! We could get used to this.

Marni x Erykah Badu
In the next iteration of Marni’s collaborative series Marni Jam, the Italian house is partnering with renowned American musician Erykah Badu. Co-designed by Francesco Risso and Badu, the capsule combines Marni’s house codes with the signer-songwriter’s eclectic sense of style resulting in a collection tied together by vibrant plush velvets, heavy sequins and hand-made leather patchwork. Accompanied by equally captivating campaign images art directed and styled by Badu, and photographed by Sergio Cattivelli in Dallas.

Drôle de Monsieur x Gergei Erdei
French streetwear brand Drôle de Monsieur have announced they are collaborating with London-based artist and designer Gergei Erdei on a 90s Palm Beach capsule. Erdei reimagines the brand’s athleisure classics, combining his signature flair for Roman motifs and opulent design aesthetic with the casually cool ambience of Florida’s coast. The collection takes you from the golf course to the beach bar, covering everything from tracksuits and silk shirts to cushions and towels.

The collection will be available to shop from May 11th, here

Louis Vuitton pre-FW23
Staged in Seoul at the Jamsugyo Bridge, connecting Gangnam and Gangbuk, Louis Vuitton unveiled its womenswear pre-FW23 collection. Focusing on refashioning the French Maison’s codes while keeping things distinctly Vuitton, Nicolas Ghesquière toed the line between then and now. Honouring the brand’s origins as a trunk maker, a philosophy of travel is applied to French sophistication as essentials take on a new look in a new setting.
