Debuted in 1986, the Air Jordan 2 marked the first of its kind to combine luxury detailing with a sports performance silhouette. Vigil Abloh, creative director of Off-White™ builds upon the Jordan legacy with a personal homage to the Air Jordan 2 by incorporating the famous Off-White™ cable tie and a Michael Jordan signature. Inspiration for the sneaker began with Abloh asking himself: if an AJ2 was pulled directly from a time capsule, what would it look like? Thus, for the first time in Nike‘s history, a sneaker was reverse-engineered, using 3-D scans of a pair worn by MJ himself.
