High above Los Angeles, where modernist houses cut sharp silhouettes against the skyline, the roads begin to wind towards Laurel Canyon – a place etched into rock ’n’ roll lore. From Jim Morrison’s Love Street to Frank Zappa’s Lookout Mountain log cabin, these hills were once home to the likes of Joni Mitchell, David Crosby and Linda Ronstadt, the Mamas and the Papas, Neil Young and Carole King during one of counterculture’s richest eras. They made music, made love, tuned in, dropped out – and reshaped the sound of a generation. It’s these legendary hills that Mike Amiri looked to for FW26.

The set was a mid-century library room, with shelves lined with books, plush seating, and criss-crosses of Persian rugs underfoot. This was Amiri at home – intimate, relaxed, and deeply rooted in Los Angeles and music culture. With this, the brand’s deep-rooted Americana roots were amplified, translating the spirit of Laurel Canyon into a modern American wardrobe. Amiri’s signature tailoring was as slick as ever, cut with an inherent sense of performance and attitude – boyfriend suits swapped wardrobes, formal tuxedo shapes were paired with washed denim, and evening details were pulled into daytime. Western detailing felt authentic and lived-in: chrome-tipped skinny bowties, patchwork motifs reimagined through hand-stitched sequins, louche embroidered shirts tucked into bootcut jeans flocked with velvet and pleated kickflare trousers, and the return of Amiri’s classic western boots. From floral embellishment to leather tailoring – rhinestone cowboy to midnight rambler. Intricate decoration and embellishment were everywhere, everything had its own flourishes, its own rhythms and personality, as if built up slowly over long Canyon nights.

“I love the idea of artists wearing tailoring in an informal way – a blazer over a Henley, boots instead of dress shoes,” said Mike Amiri in the show notes. “Clothes that feel like an extension of who you are…something that can exist on stage but also walk right off into real life.”
