Quiet Tension

No. 21 was a lesson in the joy of easeful dressing
Fashion | 25 September 2025

At N21, Alessandro Dell’Acqua continues to explore the push and pull between sensuality and structure – this season finding charm in a lightness of spirit and fabrication. This came through in sheer chiffon slip dresses, layered and lived-in, worn over black skirts, brocade shorts, lace bras, and then sweaters casually knotted across shoulders.

Classic tropes were reinterpreted through youthful styling, such as duchesse plissé pleats with built-in stiffness, slip dresses worn under bomber jackets, hand-crochet macramé lace that mimicked bloomer shorts and sequins with holes punched through them. Chiffon flowers became delicate layering, alongside workwear-inspired pants that pooled towards the runway and grungey flannels. It was a lesson in romance and ease.
