Renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino has shot some of the most iconic and timeless images.

In a newly reduced version of his 2015 book titled Sir, the Peruvian photographer shifts focuses to his male subjects, compiling over 300 images from throughout his career – his largest tome to date. From HERO 14 star Nicholas Hoult to Mick Jagger, David Beckham’s tattoos to David Bowie playing an imaginary guitar, Testino’s images reveal hidden traits about some of the world’s most famous icons whilst tracing the evolution of male identity over the past three decades.

“The way men are seen in photography, in fashion, and the way that men look at pictures of themselves has changed in recent years,” says Testino. “It is a subject that has come into focus: The masculine image, a man’s personal style, changing attitudes to the male face and body.”

The book also boasts an essay by Pierre Borhan, an interview with Patrick Kinmonth, and many previously unpublished works from Testino’s vast archives.
