Margot Robbie tours the fields of Grasse with Chanel

Margot Robbie’s ties with Chanel run deep. For the past eight years, she has been an ambassador for the French house, the last to be personally chosen by Karl Lagerfeld before his passing. She has starred in countless campaigns – most recently, Matthieu Blazy’s viral film paying homage to Kylie Minogue’s Come Into My World – attended show after show and worn custom looks from the house to her most defining career moments. For the next instalment of Robbie’s partnership with the house, she heads to Grasse, starring in a new film and photographic series which documents her conversation with the brand’s in-house perfume creator, Olivier Polge.

Premiered exclusively with HERO and Heroine, the film follows Robbie and Polge as they explore the world capital of perfume. Grasse is the birthplace of Chanel’s most instantly recognisable fragrance, N°5, with perfumer Ernest Beaux first choosing Grasse jasmine to compose the fragrance in 1921. A process that has remained until today: jasmine is still picked by hand to create each bottle of N°5 sold across the globe.

The film and accompanying imagery are a testament to the house’s continued commitment to craftsmanship, offering a rare insight into the people and meticulous processes that create the world’s most beloved scents.
