Loewe Foundation’s Craft Prize is now in its tenth year, and to commemorate a decade of spotlighting global craftsmanship, the prize will be touching down in Milan for Design Week next year. First established in 2016, the inaugural edition was hosted in the brand’s home country of Spain, awarding the first winner in Madrid. Following its initial success, the prize then travelled across the globe, touching down in London, Tokyo, Paris, Seoul, Singapore and New York.

Inspired by the Spanish house’s own humble beginnings as an artisanal workshop, the prize was introduced as a way to acknowledge the innovation and brilliance of craft in all its varying forms. All submissions are reviewed by an expert panel, shortlisting the entries down to a selection of just 30 works. Entries traverse all mediums of artistic practice across textile, sculpture, painting, ceramics, bookbinding and jewellery, prioritising craftsmanship and commitment to excellence above all. This year, alongside the prize ceremony itself, hosted on April 11th, an exhibition charting a decade of the Craft Prize will run from April 12-28th in Milan.
