Last season, Anthony Vaccarello’s womenswear collection marked the 60th anniversary of Le Smoking, Saint Laurent’s revolutionary tuxedo for women. Unveiled inside a modernist pavilion outside Place du Trocadéro with the Eiffel Tower in view, Vaccarello delivered a series of perfect tuxedos and sultry lace creations, coated in silicone or rendered in delicate silk, then cocooned in voluminous faux-fur outerwear.

Now, the collection has been shot by Juergen Teller on the streets of Paris to mark the introduction of the house’s newest accessory: the Simone handbag. Inspired by Monsieur Saint Laurent’s personal letters, the silhouette takes its form from the envelope pouches of the 1970s and 1980s. Crafted from smooth leather in black, sour raspberry and dark Mandarin; from luxurious suede in ombre olive; and from python in a rich old brandy hue. Each bag is finished with the new Double Cassandre fastening.
