Dedicated to craft
Since British actor David Jonsson burst into the mainstream with his lovable role in Raine Allen-Miller’s rom-com Rye Lane in 2023, he’s become one of this generation’s most formidable acting talents. Today, Jonsson takes on a different kind of role, as Loewe’s newest brand ambassador under the creative direction of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, joining the likes of Isla Johnston and Julia Garner.
The partnership comes from a shared instinct for imagination: “Film has always fascinated me. From costumes to cameras, it’s pure play. I’m proud to call it my craft. I always want to be somewhere I can redefine. I feel deeply connected to the spirit of Loewe. It’s a playground. I’m excited for the fun,” Jonsson said of his appointment. This new role is just one of many that the BAFTA-winning actor is taking on, with upcoming turns in A24’s crime-comedy drama The Chaperones, which sees him reunite with Cooper Hoffman, Frank Ocean’s highly anticipated untitled feature debut, and Halina Reijn’s A24 period drama, Please, alongside Gracie Abrams, Tom Burke and Connor Storrie.
Speaking on their new ambassador, McCollough and Hernandez said, “David’s approach to craft is attentive, exploratory, unafraid of complexity. In his work, as in ours, the surface is never the whole story. We are delighted to welcome him as a brand ambassador.”
