Jonathan Anderson is bringing Dior to Dublin for the brand’s Pre-Fall 2027 show. A homecoming for the Northern Irish designer whose career began with a job in the city’s Brown Thomas department store, it also marks the first time that the French house will show on Irish soil. Following his appointment as Creative Director in the spring of last year, Anderson has reinvigorated the brand’s formats, ridding the lookbook presentation of previous pre-fall collections in favour of opulent location shows.

The show will take place on December 4th at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland’s oldest university, founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I. Anderson’s designs will be unveiled against the backdrop of Trinity’s Old Library, an 18th-century building and cultural institution home to some of the world’s most precious manuscripts. The Irish capital also holds sentiment as the birthplace of Carmel Snow, the editor-in-chief of American Harper’s Bazaar, who coined the phrase ‘New Look’ after seeing Christian Dior’s debut collection in February 1947 – the editor’s infamous quote is now penned on the show’s announcement flyer.

Having taken Dior to Los Angeles for the brand’s Cruise show a couple of months ago, Anderson’s return to the Emerald Isle is a special one: “Showing at Trinity College Dublin is a dream come true. I began my career in fashion in Dublin, so returning here feels deeply personal. To present this collection in such an extraordinary setting – at an institution with such an important cultural history – is a real honour,” said the designer.
