Loewe celebrates its 180th anniversary in style
By Ella Joyce | Fashion | 1 June 2026

Founded in 1846 in Spain’s capital city, Loewe is the second-oldest luxury fashion house in the world. For close to two decades, the brand has stood at the helm of craftsmanship and design, transforming from a small workshop in Madrid to a global powerhouse. In celebration of its 180th anniversary, creative directors Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez have unveiled a campaign starring global brand ambassador Julia Garner, brand ambassadors Salma Abu Deif, GISELLE and Kara Wai, alongside actor Sissy Spacek and artist Kara Walker.

Photographed by frequent collaborator Tali Chetrit, the campaign stars wear a newly-released apparel capsule collection alongside a selection of the house’s most iconic bags, from the Flamenco clutch first launched in the 80s to the new Amazona 180, a classic reimagined by Jack and Lazaro for today.

In addition to the campaign and capsule, an animated film narrated by Antonio Banderas ensures we remember just how storied the house is, recalling a selection of milestones such as the invention of the telephone, the introduction of the lightbulb and the infamous moon landing of 1969, which Loewe witnessed in real time. A publication, entitled 180 Years of Craft, will also be released as part of Issue 11 of the brand’s magazine, unveiling a curated selection of imagery and artefacts from the Loewe archive while placing the brand’s design choices in the context of the social and political climates of the past 180 years.
