house ambassador
Jonathan Anderson‘s roster of Dior ambassadors is growing; last week it was Josh O’Connor, this week it’s Drew Starkey! Since attending his first Loewe show under Anderson’s direction for the brand’s SS25 collection, Starkey has become a mainstay in the designer’s universe, fronting numerous campaigns and lookbooks. Best known for his role as Rafe Cameron in Outer Banks, this year sees the actor take on the character for the final time as the series fifth season is set for release. Stepping into a new genre, this year also marks the actor’s appearance in A24’s upcoming action-horror film, Onslaught.
As a continuation of their creative partnership, Anderson designed the costumes for Luca Guadagnino’s 2024 adaptation of William S. Burroughs’ semi-autobiographical novel Queer, starring Starkey opposite Daniel Craig. “The actor stands out for his risk-taking, charisma and integrity, echoing the values of the house of Dior and its creative director,” reads a statement released by the house. The announcement comes ahead of Anderson’s sophomore menswear show in Paris this week, where Dior Day will no doubt bring out some of the biggest names in the industry.
