Moving house
Throughout his ten-year tenure at Loewe, Jonathan Anderson cultivated a roster of loyal talent as FROW mainstays, campaign stars and friends, including the likes of Luca Guadagnino, Drew Starkey, Joe Alwyn, Kit Connor and Sabrina Carpenter. When his appointment at Dior was first announced, one of the immediate questions was who from the Anderson universe would now take up a spot on Dior’s front row. Today, it’s been announced that Josh O’Connor is officially a Dior boy, following Anderson to take on the role of house ambassador, joining the likes of Kylian Mbappé, Lakeith Stanfield and 070 Shake.
Anderson first recruited O’Connor as the face of Loewe menswear after seeing his performance in God’s Own Country, going on to front several campaigns for the house. As a continuation of their creative partnership, Anderson designed the costumes for Guadagnino’s 2024 movie Challengers, starring O’Connor opposite Zendaya and Mike Faist. The British actor’s appointment at Dior marks the start of a new sartorial chapter, with Anderson’s second menswear collection set to hit the runway this month for Men’s Paris Fashion Week. “Josh O’Connor embodies a singular, sensitive and undeniably modern expression of masculine elegance, perfectly in sync with the contemporary Dior style,” reads a statement from the house.
