Function meets folklore in Chopova Lowena‘s newest collaboration with Chilly’s. Best known for unlikely pairings in their design language, with previous collections mixing Deptford sailors and wartime weddings or wartime pilots meet acid house ravers, that same punkish spirit is now joining forces with Chilly’s high-performance reusable gear.

Designer duo Emma Chopova and Laura Lowena-Irons have decked out the brand’s water bottles and food pots with some of their favourite characters from the past few years, including Victorian girls hula hooping and flying neon pigs. Each piece is complete with swappable lids, interchangeable collars, detachable carabiners, and limited-edition charms featuring a fish girl and a CL spoon. A kinship found in their sustainable approach to design, Chopova Lowena continue to prioritise deadstock fabrics and female artisans in Bulgaria, while Chilly’s continue to pioneer the use of reusable products in everyone’s day-to-day lives.

Ahead of the collection’s launch, we caught up with the Chopova girls to find out what they’ll be storing in their Chilly’s collection, offering us a recipe for lentil stew and tomato soup.

5 tasty things Chopova Lowena recommend storing in your Chilly’s bottles and food pots:

1. Water (yum!)

2. Dan’s courgette and tomato soup
Ingredients:
2 onions
1kg courgettes
1kg tomatoes
Veg stock
1/2tsp turmeric
Thyme
Preparation:
Step One: Fry the onions
Step Two: Add courgette and tomatoes to cook for a bit
Step Three: Add stock, turmeric and thyme
Step Four: Cover and simmer for 30mins
Step Five: Blend and season

3. Iolanta’s Lentil Stew
Ingredients:
500 gr black lentils
50 ml sunflower oil
1 head of onion – chopped
4 carrots – chopped
Savory (bulgarian herb) – 1 teaspoon
Preparation:
Step One: Put the lentils in a pot with water, oil, chopped onion, savory and carrots to the lentils
Step Two: Boil until lentil are soft approx. 50 min – to an hour

4. “Salty Water” – water with electrolytes.

5. Rooibos tea!
