Lesley Manville + Bauhaus
Earlier this year, before the fashion world officially knew Jonathan Anderson was leaving Loewe after his ten-year tenure, the designer showed his final collection in an understated presentation inside the historical Hôtel de Maisons – Karl Lagerfeld’s former home on Rue de l’Université. Presented as a co-ed collection, Anderson’s womenswear and menswear was built on a “scrapbook of ideas,” continuing the designer’s ongoing fascination with craft, art and curation.
In the recently released accompanying FW25 campaign, brand ambassador Jiang Qiming is joined by fellow actors Lesley Manville, Felix Kammerer, and Raffey Cassidy. Captured by Paris-based visual artist Arnaud Lajeunie, the actors wear Anderson’s Josef and Anni Albers-inspired pieces. Pioneers of 20th-century modernism and central to the Bauhaus movement, Anderson collaborated with the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation on his swansong collection, directly transforming colour blocks from Josef Albers’s Homage to the Square series onto the iconic Puzzle bag, and reimagining Anni Albers’s pictorial weavings across twill outerwear.
In a gesture that brings the creative collaboration full circle, the house will support Les Foyers de Tambacounda – a women’s community centre in Senegal established by the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation in close partnership with the non-profit organisation, Le Korsa.
