identity, idealism
FW25 saw Seán McGirr turn to the philosophy of dandyism and the 19th-century figures who pioneered its founding, looking to aesthetes such as Oscar Wilde, Vesta Tilley and Romaine Brooks. Debuted on the runway in Paris earlier this year, the collection revelled in the frivolity and liberation of Aestheticism, a premise now echoed in McQueen’s accompanying campaign.

Captured by esteemed British photographer Glen Luchford, models of the moment Alex Consani, Athiec Geng, Chu Wong and Libby Taverner wear McGirr’s opulent creations. Lace gowns, silk dresses, sleek tailoring and lacquered leather come to life as silhouettes take striking forms. Speaking on the campaign, McGirr said: “The collection was rooted in the uncompromising self-expression of independent thinkers, exploring the tension between tradition and transgression. Their spirit of progressivism feels pertinent now, inherent in modern questions of character, identity, idealism and gender.”
