We’ve had Brat Summer, not it’s time for Brat Horror. Charli XCX’s world domination is only just beginning as she steps into her actor era. The singer has already been confirmed to star in the upcoming remake of the cult horror film Faces of Death, a modern reimagining that will presumably avoid the real-life death footage that made the original so infamous. Now, it’s being reported that Charli will also star in and produce a new film directed by none other than Japanese auteur Takashi Miike.

Miike is a wildly prolific filmmaker with over 100 credits to his name. He’s best known internationally for his extreme horror films, including Audition (1999) and Ichi the Killer (2001). His work is bold, disturbing, and frequently pushes the boundaries of what’s acceptable on screen, which makes Charli’s forthcoming collaboration with the director incredibly intriguing.

On top of working with Miike, Charli is also set to star in the forthcoming A24 film, The Moment, which is based off her own original idea, and she will act alongside Nicholas Galitzine and Emma Corrin in 100 Nights of Hero.
