NYC days
Santa Cruz-born skater Pero Šimić found his first board at seven years old, it was an old Steve Caballero board uncovered in the dirt on a job site his roofer dad was working on. From that day, Šimić spent his days riding back and forth in their driveway before progressing to the streets. Having headed East after finishing college, Šimić is now based in New York, becoming part of the city’s current skate crowd injecting new creativity and flair to its hard-wired beat – documented by filmmaker Naquan Rollings’ ongoing project, Roadkill, which spotlights Šimić in an upcoming episode. As part of our series, Songs To Ride To, the US skater has made us a playlist of tracks on constant rotation.
