Summer is just around the corner, and Burberry are certainly getting ready to hit sunnier climes with the release of the brand’s High Summer capsule collection. In the words of Daniel Lee, “We wanted to capture the joy of the British at play. A kind of kick-start to the summer. Burberry is a brand for all the seasons, don’t forget.”

Accompanied by a campaign and film shot on 35mm by Drew Vickers, newly appointed Global Brand Ambassador Jack Draper stars alongside British supermodels Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Alva Claire. Against a postcard-perfect backdrop of yachts, ice lollies and lilos, the newly released capsule is shot in its natural habitat as the campaign stars wear nova check swimwear, patterned co-ords and shirt dresses. To coincide with the release, Burberry announced upcoming summer takeovers at two hotels: The Newt in Somerset and The Standard in Ibiza.

Ahead of the campaign launch, we caught up with British tennis star Jack Draper to find out his favourite summer pastimes, and what went down at sea on the campaign shoot.

Ella Joyce: What was it like shooting Burberry’s summer campaign?
Jack Draper: I had so much fun on the High Summer Campaign trip. There was amazing scenery, being on the boat and shooting with Rosie felt really comfortable. There was an amazing atmosphere with everyone involved – it was a lot of fun. One memory was being with a lovely dog who was climbing all over me, which was nice as I have a dog back home that I love and miss when I’m on the road. In general, just many amazing memories that I’ll hold onto for a very long time

EJ: What’s your favourite thing to do during the British summer?
JD: On a British summer’s day I like to walk along the river near where I live, get a nice coffee, chill out, sunglasses on, feel the sun on my face, and just take a break. I can relax my body from what is usually tough training.

EJ: Away from the tennis court, how would you describe your personal style?
JD: My style is quite versatile, honestly. I can be very clean cut, but then I can also be quite ragged in baggy clothes. Even if it doesn’t look great, I’ll try it on and wear it and own it. I don’t mind what people think, I just try to be myself always.
