This morning, Dior released a statement announcing that Kim Jones has left his role as Artistic Director of Dior Homme after seven years at the Parisian fashion House.

“The House of Dior wishes to express its deepest gratitude to Kim Jones,” read the statement, “who has accelerated the development of Men’s collections internationally and has greatly contributed to the worldwide influence of the House by creating an inspiring wardrobe that is both classic and contemporary, and connected to some artists of our time.

During Jones’ acclaimed tenure at Dior Homme, the British designer translated the House’s heritage savoir-faire in tune with today; reinterpreting Christian Dior’s iconic womenswear shapes and sensibilities into contemporary menswear, alongside monumental artistic collaborations – the likes of Kaws, Hylton Nel, and SS22’s partnership with Travis Scott. Jones’ most recent – and final – show for the House, was an emotional one, presented last week in Paris, models descended a vast staircase wearing ribbon blindfolds and garments inspired by Christian Dior’s Ligne H silhouette. After the show, Jones was awarded the prestigious French Legion of Honor award during an intimate ceremony.

“It was a true honor to have been able to create my collections within the House of Dior, a symbol of absolute excellence,” Jones said. “I express my deep gratitude to my studio and the ateliers who have accompanied me on this wonderful journey. They have brought my creations to life. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the artists and friends I have met through my collaborations. Lastly, I feel sincere gratitude towards Bernard and Delphine Arnault, who have given me their full support.”
