Xmas Wish List
Norman Seeff, Robert Mapplethorpe & Patti Smith, New York “Robert and Patti II”, 1969
Ah, the annual Christmas wish list is here! In keeping with tradition we asked another of our favourite friends to share what they’re hoping Santa will bring them this year, depending on whether they’ve been naughty or nice. (We know the answer to this one…)
Antonio Vattev of av vattev is a man of impeccable taste, having founded his namesake brand back in 2020, the designer has built a rebellious world inspired by music greats and a loyal following of high-profile clients. Namely, a certain Mr Mescal who seemingly hasn’t taken off his Viper Cardi for the whole of the Gladiator press tour and has sold out the garment on the brand’s website. In his own words, Antonio has curated a selection of gifts “that embodies everything an av vattev man needs to live the brand’s lifestyle.” Say no more!
“At the heart of it, av vattev isn’t just fashion – it’s an attitude and a world of its own. To truly bring this vision to life, you’ll need a few essentials.
Georgia O’Keeffe’s Black Iris VI (1936) on your wall for timeless artistic inspiration, paired with the Robert Mapplethorpe Photography Book (2020) and Patti Smith’s Just Kids Illustrated Edition on your Artempo coffee table, crafted from stunning 17th-century oak.”
“Adding a 70s vibe with a modern twist, the Rare Studio B.B.P.R. sofa in purple mohair delivers that perfect pop of color, while post-modern Memphis Milano Studio pottery candlesticks signed by Mueller ’97 add sculptural charm to any space.”
“Music, an integral part of the av vattev universe, deserves a stylish speaker like the Bluetooth Gramophone 3.0. And for the ultimate indulgence, a lifestyle projector transforms your movie nights into a ritual experience – preferably enjoyed in the av vattev Viper Lace Cardigan.
Every piece brings together the eclectic, cultured, and modern spirit that defines av vattev.”
