Hellraiser
One of the stranger stories of the week: the ashes of the former Motörhead frontman Lemmy, who died in 2015, are going to go on permanent display at Stringfellows in Covent Garden. The strip club previously hosted Motörhead’s 35th anniversary party in 2010 and it has been described as a location that held a special place in Lemmy’s heart.
Lemmy’s ashes will be displayed in an urn in the shape of the hat that became an iconic part of his outfit. There is an urn in the same style at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood where some of Lemmy’s ashes are also held. This all comes just month after news that a statue of Lemmy is being made to go on display in Burslem’s market square, the town in Stoke-on-Trent where he grew up. If you can’t wait for that, pay a visit to the Rainbow Bar on Sunset Boulevard to see the already-standing statue of Lemmy in what was his favourite drinking hole.
