Kim Jones is stepping down from his position as Artistic Director of Womenswear at Fendi, a position he has held since 2020 but will remain as artistic director of Dior Men, a post he’s held since 2018. The British designer succeeded the late Karl Lagerfeld in designing haute couture and ready-to-wear for the Italian house and over the past four years has taken the heritage brand’s design language into new territory. While a replacement for Jones is yet to be announced, Silvia Venturini Fendi will continue her role as creative director of accessories, men’s and childrenswear.

Announced just over a week after LVMH confirmed Hedi Slimane will be leaving Celine and is to be replaced by Michael Rider, Jones’ departure marks another great shift in the industry’s evolving landscape. In a statement, Bernard Arnault, chairman and CEO of LVMH said: “Kim Jones is a highly talented designer who has brought his unique and multicultural vision to Fendi over the past four years. I would like to thank him for his contribution and look forward to continuing to witness his creativity at Dior Men’s.”
