Against the backdrop of the opulent Grand Palais Éphémère, the Paris Photo Fair is taking over the capital this weekend for its 26th edition. A highlight of the yearly cultural calendar, the fair is best known for curating a selection of world-renowned and upcoming talent under one roof. Future-facing photography collective Fellowship are heading to the French capital armed with an intention to connect the past with the present, taking esteemed American photographer Joel Meyerowitz with them. Since beginning his career photographing the streets of New York City in the 1960s, Meyerowitz and his instantly recognisable images have become a pioneering force in 20th-century photography. Capturing the spontaneity of city life in front of his lens, Meyerowitz’s extensive body of work is a defining catalogue of the shifting cultural landscape, photographing people and places in their truest forms.

In the spirit of cultural shifts, the prolific photographer is embracing change and evolving technology for Fellowship’s Paris presentation and is exhibiting Sequels: One Image, Every Day, for a Decade. An exploration of photography and blockchain technology uniting six decades of work into a decade-long visual narrative, promising to become the first ever long-form photographic NFT project. Offering visitors an insight into the photographer’s experience across the USA, Latin America and Europe, Meyerowitz scanned 250,000 negatives from his sprawling archive to paint a comprehensive portrait of the everyday. The immersive nature of the exhibition unites the tradition of 35mm with the power of evolving technology, revealing a new image every day for the next ten years as Meyerowitz curates a virtual museum of his lifelong career.

Paris Photo Fair runs from 9th – 12th November, more info here and check out Fellowship’s full programme here
