Global Partnership
Following on from Stone Island’s archive exhibition at Frieze Seoul last week which saw over seventy key pieces from their very first SS82 show to the present day presented in a retrospective of the brand’s history, Stone Island has now announced that it is entering a multi-year global partnership with Frieze.
Set to commence at Frieze London next month at the 20th edition of the event, the Italian house will become the Official Partner of Focus, with a dedicated approach to pioneering younger galleries across London, Los Angeles, New York and Seoul. Stone Island will offer each of the participating galleries a bursary and a commitment to amplifying visibility with a dedicated content series created in partnership with Frieze Studios, ensuring young galleries have the opportunity to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the art world’s most respected gallerists. The inaugural lineup sees thirty-four galleries from eighteen countries descend on the capital, including presentations by Larry Achiampong in partnership with Copperfield Gallery, Mexico City’s Débora Delmar and Jordan Strafer representing Heidi in Berlin and Hot Wheels in Athens.
Speaking on the partnership, CEO of Stone Island Robert Triefus said; “We are delighted to enter this global partnership with Frieze, with which we have so many values in common. Stone Island is built on community and creative energy inspired by research and innovation, characteristics that define the Focus section of Frieze’s art fairs. Through this partnership, Stone Island will offer foundational support to some of the world’s most significant emerging galleries and artists for years to come.”
Frieze London will take place from October 11th-15th in Regent’s Park.
