Charles Jeffrey takes the Big Apple in a new documentary series
By Ella Joyce | Fashion | 31 August 2023

Known as London’s resident club kid, Charles Jeffrey’s hedonistic, post-punk designs have formed the backbone of his eponymous brand LOVERBOY since its founding in 2015. The Glasgow-born designer has recently taken his runway show to Milan, and now he’s taking New York. Visiting the city for the first time in five years, Jeffrey has created a video series in partnership with Foundation.FM paying tribute to the Big Apple’s ever-evolving creative scene.

Documenting the trip in a vlog-style set-up, the visual diary captures the process behind his installation at the city’s Dover Street Market Store, visiting Times Square and roaming the streets of Williamsburg. Accompanied by conversations with the likes of Kid Super, Duckie Brown, Joey Labeija, Niko Haagenson and Angelica Davinici, Jeffrey picks the brains of some of New York’s most prevalent visionaries as they discuss the nightlife, street style and ever-beating energy that charges the city’s creative pulse.

The first episode, Bright Lights, Big City… is out now.
