Fashion Round Up
Time flies, so to keep you in the loop, we’ve rounded up all the important snippets of fashion news from the past seven days into one neat feature. This week includes Alexander McQueen’s pre-FW23 collection, Dr. Martens Pride collaboration and the latest instalment of Timberland x RÆBURN.
First launched in 2021 via an online space and takeovers in four vintage stores around the world, Valentino Vintage provides the opportunity to give your Valentino pieces a second lease of life. The project now returns with three new spaces in London, Paris and Seoul joining the original locations in Milan, Tokyo, New York and Los Angeles. Valentino will be taking over Rellik in Notting Hill for their first time residency in London, accompanied by news of a creative partnership with 1 Granary to support the next generation of upcoming designers.
In a continuation of Daniel Lee’s creative expression for Burberry, British musician and actor Kano is the latest to feature in the brand’s ongoing campaign. Shot by Tyrone Lebon, the Top Boy star joins the likes of Shygirl, Skepta, Lennon Gallagher and John Glacier in the series of portraits accompanied by the evolution of the Burberry logo and Equestrian Knight Design under Lee’s new direction.
Celebrating the rich history of Calypso music and the Caribbean, Nicholas Daley’s latest fashion film marks the designer’s SS23 collection launch. Inspired by Harry Belafonte’s album Calypso throughout the collection’s design process, Daley’s film highlights the intrinsic relationship between music, heritage and creativity which sits at the heart of the brand.
You can finally get your hands on JW Anderson’s hotly anticipated collaboration with Wellipets. Since making their debut on the runway at the British designer’s FW23 show in Milan, the reworked frog wellington boots became one of the season’s most talked about accessories.
JW Anderson x Wellipets is available to shop from JW Anderson and Wellipets.
Dissected tailoring and minimal utility form the core codes of Alexander McQueen’s pre-FW23 collection as sharp silhouettes and monochrome suiting stand front and centre. Single breasted jackets, cut-out harness shirts and elegantly tapered cigarette trousers are accented by solarized flower prints, crystal highlights and collage embroideries in a playful iteration of McQueen’s menswear aesthetic.

As part of Dr. Martens’ ongoing commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community, the British brand has commissioned three artists to design a limited edition of classic DM silhouettes. Created in partnership with South-Korean social network ZEPETO, AMI’s virtual world is inspired by Montmatre, the Parisian neighbourhood where the brand hosted its SS23 show. As users are invited to customise their avatars, AMI have created a store in the metaverse housing a curated selection of this season’s staples, so your avatar can look the part while sipping their coffee outside a Parisian café.
