Scandinavian brand Samsøe Samsøe unveils its FW23 collection in celebration of three decades spent crafting forward-thinking designs. Titled Future Visions, this season the brand sifted through its sprawling archive to delve deeper into its heritage, taking inspiration from the various cultural influences which have shaped them. Debuted in the midst of Copenhagen Fashion Week, Samsøe Samsøe is continuing to build a shapeshifting wardrobe for its modern-day wearer, evolving with the ever-changing landscape around them. 

Silhouettes are reminiscent of 90s sophistication, reinventing classic styles with a playful, contemporary sensibility. Leather motorcycle jackets, cargo trousers, bias-cut maxi dresses, ombre-hued puffer coats and sci-fi homespun knits present a series of new styles for the brand. Throughout, Scandinavian simplicity prevails in the form of sharp tailoring, minimalistic cashmere knits, double-layered shirts with structured collars, and functional outerwear. Staples for a carefully curated capsule wardrobe work in conjunction with statement pieces while neutral tones of taupe, grey and brown are interspersed with flashes of neon green, cobalt blue and hot pink. Chunky footwear is crafted in durable leather, cosy beanies sit atop heads and jet black square framed sunglasses make a bold finishing touch. Toeing the line between traditional craft and experimental design, the collection is a vibrant expression of the house’s codes rooted in freedom of expression.

Head of menswear Gitte Wetter says of the brand’s new chapter; “[The] Autumn Winter collection is our interpretation of the future – a homage to a time we will soon live in with a hint of nostalgia. The garments are classic, but their mix contradicts, making them exciting and new.”
