FUTURES
Born out of a desire to support diversity and inclusivity at a grass roots level, Mr Porter Futures is kickstarting the careers of young designers. Calling for creatives to pitch a collection, they received over 1,000 entries which were anonymously judged by a panel of industry experts including the likes of designers Nicholas Daley and Reese Cooper. Narrowed down to three winners: MANAAKI, Miles Leon and Said Ud Deen, each designer’s collection launches exclusively on the online fashion retailer today.
Created over a year-long design and business mentorship programme with an in-house team at Mr Porter, the designers explored areas such as brand marketing, product range and intellectual property to finalise their visions. In partnership with Klarna, the programme offers a two-season commitment to each brand with Mr Porter meeting the costs of production, sampling and shipping.

Each following their own unique menswear vision, MANAAKI takes inspiration from her Māori heritage, while the design duo behind Miles Leon, Ryan Edmonds and Julian Canda, articulate physical and metaphorical elements of the garden in their pieces. Completing the trio, Manchester-based Saif Ud Deen explores the relationship between faith and dressing, blurring the lines between traditional Islamic attire and contemporary street style.
Buying director of Mr Porter Sam Kershaw says: “Mr Porter Futures was borne from discussions we had in the business regarding how we could support diversity and inclusivity at a grass roots level, encouraging anyone who had an idea for a collection to submit them. The fact that all entrants were judged anonymously was hugely important and we are incredibly privileged to have selected three brands that are unique and should appeal to the modern man.”
