Go behind the scenes on Givenchy’s dotty Disney collaboration
By Ella Joyce | Fashion | 26 July 2022

Earlier this month we showed you the latest instalment in Givenchy’s ongoing collaboration with Disney and it was certainly a dotty one. A limited-edition capsule collection celebrating the 1961 classic, 101 Dalmatians saw Pongo, Perdita, and their pups take over a series of Givenchy staples. Refashioning traditional codes through the playful nature of Disney’s most beloved characters, puppies sit across 4G emblems and frolic atop Parisian balconies.

Accompanying the campaign and collection, the French maison has now released a behind-the-scenes video, shining light on the creative ties between the two inimitable brands and the collaborative process that brought the collection to life. Givenchy creative director Matthew M. Williams worked closely with renowned Walt Disney Animation Studios director and animator Eric Goldberg as well as Disney’s animation special projects producer Dorothy McKim to develop a hand-sketched animated short film starring two fashion icons from opposite ends of the spectrum: Kate Moss and Cruella de Vil. Williams says of the partnership, “Both Disney and Givenchy combine magic and fantasy in their own way. Givenchy and Disney are both timeless creations and we have a long history of collaborating together, so it only made sense to continue that collaboration.” Hit play below.

Givenchy x Disney is available to shop on givenchy.com.
