Bag it up

Louis Vuitton’s latest drop caters for the modern commuter

Virgil Abloh’s legacy at the house of Louis Vuitton is thankfully going nowhere. This season sees a continuation of the late designer’s vision via the world of men’s accessories, offering contemporary takes on the house’s classic luggage line-up drenched in a vibrant colour palette in homage to his never-wavering technicolour outlook.

First up, the iconic Monogram Macassar and Taurillon Monogram are reimagined, punctuated by these rainbow accents and finished with one of Abloh’s signature magnetic S-Locks inspired by LV’s original unbreakable lock from 1886. The S-Lock Sling follows suit, its toile canvas detailed in this season’s colourways and embellished with matte black metallic flourishes.

Despite honouring the past, the collection is firmly rooted in the present as it introduces a selection of new designs and adaptations of Vuitton classics. The classic briefcase is updated to accommodate tech alongside any important documents, while a wearable crossbody wallet fits two smartphones (the sign of a true businessperson) under its S-Lock closure. The distinctive Christopher backpack is also reworked – scaled down to a convenient size for last-minute dashes crosstown.

The collection will be available to shop from June 30th on louisvuitton.com.
