Aria d’Italia

Tod’s celebrate the beauty of contemporary Italian craft
By Ella Joyce | Art | 24 May 2022

Known for its rich heritage and meticulous craft, luxury house Tod’s is celebrating a contemporary Italian lifestyle with its latest project, Aria d’Italia. As a country, Italy is known for its appreciation of passion and pleasure with carefully-crafted food, art and traditions embraced across generations. Tod’s is honing on this conviviality to tell the personal and professional stories of young artists and craftspeople who represent the elements of Italian culture that continue to inspire their work.

Split into eight chapters each defined by a keyword, Boldness visits the atelier of Sofia Cacciapaglia, the youngest artist to have exhibited at the Venice Biennale, while Imagination explores the romantic world of painter Sergio Fiorentino and Rosita Gita in Noto, Sicily. Unveiled across a variety of media channels in the form of a documentary released in instalments, Tod’s are creating a visual journey into the lives of a new generation of Italian creative talents set to reinvent heritage.

In September, after the staggered release of each chapter, Aria d’Italia will take the form of a collector’s edition volume published in association with Rizzoli International.
