Upcoming thriller Bones & All will mark the reunion of Timothée Chalamet and director Luca Guadagnino after the success of the pair’s brilliant Call Me By Your Name in 2017. Written by long time collaborator David Kajganich who also penned the director’s adaption of Argento classic Suspiria, it’s the first US-set feature film from Guadagnino having already shot and wrapped in Ohio last year. It’s been announced today that MGM has received worldwide distribution rights after being acquired by Amazon amid rumours that the drama is set to premiere at Cannes Film Festival.

Based on Camille DeAngelis’ 2015 novel of the same name, the plot tells the cannibalistic love story of outcasts Maren and Lee who embark on a thousand-mile road trip across Ronald Reagan’s America to find Maren’s long-lost father. Taylor Russell stars alongside Chalamet as the female protagonist unable to figure out why she can’t repress her yearning to eat the flesh of the ones who love her. Joining a host of movies such as Mimi Cave’s Fresh that have recently used cannibalism as a medium to connect to wider human themes it is set to offer up another meaty take on the dynamic of love and lust.
