If you’ve ever been to Disneyland and not wanted to leave, your solution might have just arrived. The American entertainment giant is set to build a new series of residential communities called ‘Storyliving’, emulating the experience of going to a resort as your everyday reality. The first site – named Contino – will be developed in California’s Rancho Mirage, just outside Palm Springs where Walt and Lillian Disney shared a home in the 60s.

Aiming to bring about a sense of community spirit and encourage people to live life to the fullest, Disney cast members such as the likes of Buzz Lightyear, Donald Duck and Cinderella will be trained in the company’s exemplary guest experience services to ensure the smooth running of facilities – weird. Developed in collaboration with DMB the plans include 2,000 housing units catering for all with the option of full estates, single homes or condos as well as the inclusion of a designated area for residents over the age of 55. Featuring shopping, entertainment services, dining and picturesque lagoons the environment will be equipped with everything their residents need to fully integrate Disney dreams into their reality.

So if Mickey Mouse serving you breakfast every day sounds like something you’d like to actually happen in your actual life, get packing, after all, Disneyland is supposed to be the happiest place on earth…
