HUGO designer Bart de Backer has always pulled from various references when designing collections, but the German heritage of Hugo Boss has remained a particular source of inspiration. Music is another constant: a recent capsule was inspired by David Bowie’s seminal ‘Berlin Years’, but for SS20, de Backer broadened his focus to pull from Berlin’s notorious rave scene.

Naturally, the resulting pieces are eclectic and colourful: from a canary yellow track jacket with cobalt stripes to tie-dyed jeans and blush pink blazers, there’s a sense of vibrance and individuality throughout. A few rave essentials are in the mix too, like the pink, logo-stamped bum-bag with handy pockets for cards, cash and whatever else you feel like packing for the club – or, right now, the virtual house party.

HUGO’s SS20 ‘New Rave’ collection is available now.
