Homecoming
Roberto Cavalli will debut its first men’s collection designed by creative director Paul Surridge at this year’s Pitti Immagine Uomo 94.
Invited to show as the event’s second guest designer – after Craig Green was announced earlier this month – the announcement sees Roberto Cavalli return to its Florentine roots.
Having been appointed creative director of the brand in May 2017 – following the departure of Peter Dundas – Surridge has since injected a new sense of energy into the brand. His show at Pitti will be the first time the brand’s men’s wear collection, will be separately presented from women’s wear since his arrival.
“The long love story between Pitti Immagine and Roberto Cavalli began nearly twenty years ago”, say Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine. “The runway show at the forthcoming edition of Pitti Uomo, featuring the first menswear collection by Paul Surridge further sanctions this bond, with us of Pitti and with the city. It marks the return of one of the champions of Italian style, one of the names that made Florence the world capital of fashion, and – at the same time it is the moment for highlighting a new phase for the brand led by the design talents of the new creative director.”
Pitti Uomo 94 will take place between 12th – 15th June in Florence.
