After-hours allure
This season, Isabel Marant’s man can be found in the basement of a dimly lit club, graffiti covering the walls and a hard bassline thumping through the speakers. This is his happy place. Compiling elements of rock ‘n’ roll, grunge and folklore felt in previous collections, SS25 took Marant’s bohemian core and sexed things up with a tougher spirit. Presented as a lookbook shot by Robin Galiegue with a mirrorball glistening in the background, the French designer played with the art of texture and silhouette.
Aztec and paisley print shirts are worn open over bare chests or deeply cut tank tops while knitwear is adorned with ikat patterns, and embroidered denim layers atop denim. In true rocker fashion, black leather pants are a staple in Marant’s man’s wardrobe this season, paired with a statement belt, vest, neckerchief and tartan shirt tied around the waist. As graphic jacquard prints blend to neutral hues, washed fabrics unfold in the form of jeans, jackets and tees in faded pinks, plums and taupe. On foot, leopard print boat shoes stand alongside pointed-toe cowboy-style boots to finish off each look.
