Exploring notions of duality, John Lawrence Sullivan’s SS25 collection took reference from beautiful yet hidden rare creatures. This theme of duality was woven throughout the collection through garments fused together to create mutated forms. A tailored single-button jacket was spliced with a double-buttoned jacket from the shoulder lines to create a layered silhouette, and leather pants were constructed with double-front-zips. Bomber jackets over bomber jackets, belts on belts, knits over knits, trenches on trenches, there was a sense of illusion throughout. Pinstripe trousers were paired with hybrid tees that read ‘Twin Speak’, while womenswear was imbued with a dark glamour, rendered in sequins, crushed velvet and lace. As is the John Lawrence Sullivan way, a subcultural edge ran across the collection, elevated by craftful innovation.
