Saint Laurent’s SS16 show left us with a tangible whiff of salt and wax, aptly titled ‘Surf Sound’ the collection took a stride West to a celebration of all things Californian Coast. Hedi Slimane’s strong language here interpreted for boys – and girls – less beatnik, more beach.
The latest campaign instalment stars English model Ruth Bell, wearing the Cruise ’16 collection which debuted hand in hand with men’s earlier this year.
Photographed by Hedi Slimane in Los Angeles, the campaign strips the collection to black and white in the house’s signature style, honing in on a potent mood and attitude.
Real and irreverent, it’s the same world-view that will continue to see boys wear girls’ clothes and girls wear boys’, a language Saint Laurent is more than fluent in.
