Riccardo Tisci’s latest vision of Burberry is unveiled in the FW21 campaign, captured as a series of classical studio stills by renowned photography duo Mert and Marcus accompanied by candid backstage imagery taken by Chris Rhodes at the British house’s FW21 presentations.

Symbolised by the imagery, the idea of contrasting perspectives is at the core of Tisci’s collection. The designer says, “This season is very much about freedom of expression and the importance of exploring creativity. And so, for the campaign, I really wanted to build on these notions and have the collection captured from two different creative perspectives. I collaborated with the incredible Katy England on the styling for the campaign to create a beautiful and powerful fluidity across both juxtaposing images, and I am so excited to have also worked with Mert and Marcus and Chris Rhodes to bring them to life through each of their unique lenses.”

This campaign narrative aligns with the vision of the collection itself, exploring the narrative of modern masculinity and refashioning it with a new sense of identity. Hints of traditional Burberry remain as the nova check stands front and centre while sharp tailoring takes on a modern twist. The neutral colour palette that runs through the collection spins a tonal spectrum of the classic Burberry beige while the stills in front of Riccardo’s beige curtain are a signature of the aesthetic he has created for the British house.
