City beat
MSGM’s flagship store in Milan’s Brera district was at the centre of the brand’s SS26 show. Guests lined the street, sat on vibrant Artemide and Fiam chairs, as the store’s corner windows provided a look at the pre-show ritual. Known as the artists’ quarter, Brera’s blend of galleries, stores and studios has forever inspired Massimo Giorgetti’s designs, and here, we could see them play out onto the streets in real-time.
The press release compared the show to a “Milan block party, bringing a playful energy realised across a frenzied mix of stripes, polka dots, check, florals and animal print. Fabrics alternated like tempo shifts: distressed denim and sheer chiffon, silver eco-leather and sequins, weightless cotton and crisp poplin, geometric in their intent or softened by a ruffle. Prints were sliced and spliced into each other, while cardigans were worn like capes and skirts cut into polos. Everything felt personal and punk; self-directed for a good time.
